At the centre of Canyons Village stands the Grand Summit Hotel – and it certainly is grand. This impressive complex contains 350 lodging options and, with its warming Alpine colours and contemporary build, it contrasts perfectly against the snowy mountain backdrop. In seconds you can ski out to the entrance to the Orange Bubble Express lift. It’s also less than a minutes walk away to the Red Pine gondola. Grand Summit Hotel Details:

As you enter the Grand Summit, you’ll walk under the beautiful, and truly American, porte-cochère and into the monumental lobby with its magnificently high ceilings. Once you’ve skied back to door after a day on the slopes, you can fall back into one of the quilted leather armchairs in the lobby. Or jump into the toasty outdoor pool to carry on admiring the amazing views.

The hotel itself has 3 main restaurants you can make the most of. The Cabin open for breakfast, and Red Tail and The Farm (voted Utah’s best new restaurant) open for lunch and dinner. All of them offer a high standard of dining to make for a pleasurable culinary experience.

If you just fancy relaxing, you can head over to the Canyons Resort Spa and Health Club. With a sauna, steam room and fitness center, there’s a lot to help you unwind. And if you just want to treat yourself (because why not, you’re on holiday) you can revitalise with a luxurious spa treatment.

Grand Summit Hotel Rooms:

All rooms have a flatscreen TV, DVD player, games console, iPod/music dock, free WiFi, telephone, hairdryer, bathrobes, slippers and safe, and are non-smoking. Towels, linen, and cleaning are provided. Interconnecting rooms, cots and room service are available on request, but may require a small charge.

The studio and condo include a fully equipped kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and freezer and dishwasher. A deposit is required on arrival and can be paid by either cash or card.

Park City Mountain receives an average of 350 inches and is the largest ski resort in the United States, offering over 300+ trails, 41 chairlifts, and 7,300 acres of skiing and snowboarding to explore. As the resort is only 35 minutes from Salt Lake City airport it is an easy resort to get to.

For your time off the slopes, use the free public transportation to access Historic Main Street which it is lined with art galleries, boutiques, bars, and restaurants. There are some fantastic bars and restaurants to visit that will make you want to stay!

Resort Apres Ski

At the end of the day Park City livens up to become a real party town with plenty of great bars and restaurants for everyone. If you want a unique après experience ski into downtown Park City and check out the only ski-in Whiskey Distillery in the world, High West.

There is a lovely lively atmosphere to be found along Main Street like at the No Name Saloon (Helping people forget their names) is a staple, or closer to the base area in Mountain Village with Pig Pen Saloon, the Cornerstore, and Legacy Lodge and at Canyons Village, check out the Umbrella Bar or the expanded outdoor ski beach with fireplaces and group seating scattered throughout the base area.

Park City Mountain Bars

For lively apres ski head to Drafts Park Head City. Head downtown into the Main Street for late night partying and you won’t be disappointed. No Name Saloon & Grill (Helping people forget their names) is a Park City Legend. High West Distillery and Sollon is the world’s only ski to the door whiskey distillery.

Restaurants

With over 150+ restaurants in the area, every food pallet will find something to enjoy. Tired from your day on the slopes, many hotels and surrounding hotels offer a variety of food for someone interested in staying closer to their lodging. If someone wants to venture a little farther out great restaurants are found all around including the Prospector area, Historic Main Street, Kimball Junction/Newpark/Redstone area.

There are experiential dining must-dos like the Snowed Inn Sleigh Ride, Deer Valley’s Fireside Dining, or the Viking Yurt Dinner. Food genres include class western steak houses, elevated bar food, pizza parlors, to farm to table concepts, Italian, South American, and more.

Off Slope Activities

If you are feeling adventurous try backcountry snowmobiling or the Olympic bob track! Robert Redford’s Sundance Film Festival comes to town in January and a trip to Salt Lake City is easy to take in a concert or maybe just do some shopping.

Beginners will learn to ski and board on the short lifts and the beginner’s area that is near the base area on the Mountain Village side and on the Canyons Village side they take Red Pine Gondola up to the newer mid-mountain learning area known as High Meadow Park.

The fantastic snowsports school will have you getting around the resort in no time. With 7,300 acres there are cruisy blue groomed runs as well as a variety of challenging slopes, so any ability level can enjoy their time at Park City Mountain.

Head over to Deer Valley (often voted America’s top ski resort) for a taste of luxury and perfectly groomed corduroy pistes. More advanced skiers and boarders will find the scary chutes and bowls will get your hearts racing and the powder in The Canyons will never disappoint! There are four terrain parks that are described as being amongst the best in the world.
