The Hotel Residenz Hochland is a bit of a skiers dream – it’s right on the Geigenbühel slopes so in the mornings you could be out getting started on some laps before everyone else. The main Rosshütte slopes are a bit further – although the ski bus runs from the bottom of the local slopes to make it easy to explore. Being on the piste, the views are pretty awesome – looking out over Seefeld’s valley. And it’s only a few minutes’ walk to the centre of town for your après fix or a spot of shopping.
The food is a pleasing mix of local cuisine and international favourites – and the chefs are more than happy to cater for vegetarians and special dietary requirements – just let them know in advance. If you don’t fancy heading out after dinner then there’s a relaxed piano bar and lounge with open fireplace.
Decor-wise the Hochland is fairly traditional – lots of natural wood and knick-knacks gathered over generations, highlighting the history of the region – but with plenty of modern elements thrown in too. Also the rooms are very spacious and the vast majority have a balcony or terrace. The service is friendly and welcoming – it’s all about feeling relaxed. And to help with that, there’s an excellent wellness centre for some chill-out time and perhaps a massage. Afterwards you could take a dip in the indoor pool.
