Run by a friendly Austrian couple, Andrea & Max, the pocket-sized Pension Maximillian is just the ticket if you’re looking for somewhere that won’t break the bank. It’s a 5-minute walk from the village centre, not far from Söll’s restaurants, bars and shops, and there’s a ski bus stop close by too. You can walk to the slopes in 15 minutes, but if you’d rather catch a lift, hop on the bus to get to the slopes quicker.
With painted frescoes and a sloping wooden roof, the Maximilian looks pretty traditional from the outside. And inside, it’s a simple, no-frills kind of place – there are just the bedrooms and a breakfast and TV room. When dinner time rolls around, head into Söll to tuck into a traditional Tyrolean dish from one of the local restaurants, or stick to international favourites like steak, pizza and pasta.
