The freestanding Chalet Tolima offers traditional accommodation across three floors. Wood paneling, beams, and Savoyard furnishings create a beautiful winter retreat. Originally the owner’s family home, it features a wood and stone exterior. Personal touches enhance the beautifully finished interior.

Under-floor heating and double-glazing ensure warmth and quiet. Wooden floors grace the bedrooms and dining areas. Warm red tiles characterize the hallway. A private sauna provides extra comfort after skiing. Satellite TV and free WiFi are included. Large storage for skis and heated boot warmers add convenience. Chalet Tolima is well positioned just off the main street into Val d’Isère (almost opposite the Spar supermarket) and within 10 minutes walk of the town centre. The free bus stop is only 50 metres (approx.), from which buses run the short distance to both the Solaise and Olympic lifts or to the Funival funicular in La Daille. Le Cret quarter is discreet and well-protected by pine trees and forms a small hamlet of old farmhouse chalets perfectly nested into the hillside.

Chalet catering is based on a hearty set menu which minimises waste and allows us to use locally sourced, high-quality ingredients. Any specific dietary requests must be discussed prior to booking so checks can be made that we can cater for your needs.

Please note this is based on 7-night holidays. Your chalet staff will have 1 day off. For the 24/25 season, this will be Wednesdays except on Christmas and New Year holidays when it will be Thursday 26th December or Thursday 2nd January. For holidays of shorter durations, catering will be provided for 1 day less than the holiday duration.

Val D’Isere is considered by some to be the world’s premier resort and it is hard to fault. It offers some of the best skiing and boarding in the world along with some mighty fine après ski. The pretty village dates back to the 13th century and still manages to retain some of its Savoyarde charm. The resort itself is made up of wood and stone clad buildings with a pedestrian only centre in the village complex. Chalets, apartments and hotels are all available to book for those perfect ski holidays.

Val D’Isere gets 5 stars for après ski as there are plenty of bars and dancing on offer later on. The Folie Douce at the top of the La Daille gondola has become a bit of an Austrian style après ski party with music and dancing before heading back to the chalet for dinner. Back in the village Bananas, Cafe Face, the Moris pub and the Saloon fill up with people coming off the slopes. Later on if you still have the energy head out to the famous Dick’s Tea Bar or try the new club called the Doudoune. Off the slopes there is still plenty to keep you occupied with the swimming pool, sports centre, ice rink and a huge range of shops.

Val d’Isere links up with Tignes to form the Espace Killy offering a fantastic 300Km of pistes. There are wooded slopes above the village on all sectors which are great for bad visibility days. The nursery slopes are ideally placed right by the centre of town and the lifts serving it are free. Intermediates will want to come back year after year as there are plenty of runs to keep you interested time and time again. The glacier has a good variety of runs for early intermediates to find their legs on and the World Cup downhill run is the best for cruising down.

Val d’Isere is one of the top resorts in the world for experts with the main attraction being the huge amount of off piste. On Bellevarde the famous Face run is not to be missed and can sometimes be full of moguls. We definitely recommend hiring a guide though if you fancy tasting some of the off piste that can be found throughout the area of the Espace Killy as it is just amazing.
