Friendly and traditional, the Hotel Des Alpes is a top pick for your Selva ski trip. It’s in a great spot too. You’ll be staying on the edge of the Nives square, a short stroll from the bars and cafés in the resort centre. And most importantly, getting to the slopes is super simple – just grab your gear from the ski room and hop on the free bus that stops outside.
The hotel has that classic alpine look, with wooden balconies and shutters. And there’s a homely feel inside, with plenty of natural wood and little nods to the mountain setting, like the carvings and paintings showing winter scenes in the bar.
Food-wise, you can get set for the ski day with a buffet spread of freshly baked bread, pastries, fruit and plenty of cold cuts. Then in the evening, round things off with a 4-course evening meal. There’s plenty of local fare on the menu, so expect bowlfuls of stew and polenta dishes.
