Sansicario Ski Holidays

Sansicario is pretty compact – a few modern hotels cluster around the foot of the slopes, while a small shopping plaza with a supermarket and a couple of restaurants sits at the centre. Skiing is definitely the main event here, so if you’re eager for a little action after the lifts close, check out the livelier après scene in nearby Sestriere, a short taxi ride away.

When you’re done for the day, stretch out your ski legs with a leisurely stroll on a winter walking trail through the woods. And for some Olympic-sized thrills, don’t miss the nearby bobsleigh run, where you can ride a special taxi bob down the twisting track at speeds of 125km/h.

Sansicario has a prime spot in the centre of the huge Milky Way ski area, with lots of reds and blues spreading out in all directions from the resort – perfect if packing in the piste time is your top priority. The local slopes are tree-lined, sheltered and usually much quieter compared to the other bigger resorts in the area, so you’ll have plenty of space while you’re making those first turns. And the nursery area’s just metres from the village too.
