Vail Ski Resort Bars
Pop into Vendetta’s for an apres ski beer with a slice of pizza with the locals or head over to the Red Lion for some live music. The Vail Ale House offers craft beers and Garfinkel’s has nightly specials throughout the week. Several other bars also have live music…visit Vail to experience them!
Vail Ski Resort Restaurants
The Montauk Grill has fantastic seafood arriving daily from Seattle. Alternatively, if you just fancy a burger and fries, then head to the Red Lion for a pitcher and a burger. For breakfast try the Little Diner but be early as it is a little diner, the Mountain Standard has just, generally, great food.
Vail Ski Resort Activities
If you don’t want to ski or board one day then why not try some any one of the numerous activities on offer such as snow shoeing, ski biking, the nature discovery centre, cross country skiing, tubing, dog sledding or horse riding.
The Vail ski resort area offers something for all standards of skier and snowboarder. You can get a real sense of travel when heading from one side of the resort to the other. There are three main areas including three terrain parks, seven bowls and 5289 acres of terrain to play on.
Beginners will enjoy learning in the fantastic ski schools and will progress easily onto the longer runs. Intermediates will just love skiing Vail for its easy cruising runs. There are also some easy black runs to try and definitely head over the the Blue Sky Basin area as you can have so much fun skiing the trees.
Intermediates will have endless fun in the back bowls as you can pick your challenge by gradient and terrain of your choice. The Blue Sky Basin has some wonderfully steep runs and the trees are great fun as long as you don’t hit them. If conditions are looking good then hire a guide and head out of the ski area into the back country and try the Minturn Mile.
We recommend that if you are staying for longer than a week or are good intermediate skier and boarders then take the EPIC pass as this covers the neighbouring resorts of Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin. You really can’t go to Colorado without having a taste of the other resorts on your doorstep.
