Winter Park is found high up in the Rockies sitting on the Continental Divide. The area was originally used for skiing by the railway workers when the Rio Grande railway was built in the 19th Century. Winter Park is a popular ski holiday destination due to it’s reasonable transfer time from Denver, slopeside accommodation and 3000 acres of terrain that suits all abilities.

At the end of the day the Derailer Bar at the main lift station offers plenty of fun or pop into the Club Car at the foot of Mary Jane. Later on in the evening the Winter Park Pub gets busy. Byers Peak is a good sports bar, but there are plenty of bars to choose from…why not visit and try them out.

There is a huge variety of restaurants to choose from…fancy a pizza? – try Hernando’s Pizza Pub, taco or 2? – visit Pepe Osaka’s Fishtaco, crepes? – nip into Goodys Mountain Creperie, hot dogs – none finer than at Fraser Valley Hot Dog plus many more steak houses, fish restaurants…you’re probably best going there to try them.

If you fancy something different then head to Fraser for some floodlit tubing or grab a bargain at the Silverthorne factory outlet stores that are about 90 mins away.
Winter Park offers a large area of terrain and the Tri-Mountain ticket can be purchased to cover Copper and Steamboat as well offering a fantastic area for skiing and boarding. Beginners will love the Discovery Park and green runs on the lower slopes where there are adventure trails and a first timers race course. Intermediates will find plenty of wide groomed cruising runs for perfecting the turns on. The Parsenn Bowl is always a popular choice for intermediates as the terrain is just perfect. More advanced skiers and boarders will enjoy the likes of Mary Jane where you can bounce through the moguls and brave the steeps. There is also another 435 acres of new terrain over on Vasquez Cirque. There are four levels of terrain parks that offer something for everyone from beginner through to advanced.
